The reliability of technology in the artisan’s hands

The 4.0 industry includes all those companies which have invested in the production evolution, shifting it towards the automation or by introducing "smart" plants. These companies, such as Faip, being manufacturers for more than 40 years of windows, blinds, shutters and doors, are often family-run and have wisely been able to prepare for the market’s challenges, leaving decision-making to new generations, without fossilizing on consolidated but obsolete methods.

Giordano Colibazzi, once inherited Faip’s production organization, has started a process of comprehensive development aimed at solving the paint-related problems caused by the old plant: previously, customers were construction companies and retailers, which required a standardized and serial production with few color changes, whereas the company now caters to private, making speed and flexibility essential. In order
to find the optimal solution for their needs, the company turned to Imola’s Cefla Finishing, which has completely replaced the existing plant, making the most of the space available and using the most current solutions. Replacing the cold wall cabin with an automated robot has represented a true revolution which has improved significantly quality, speed and production control.
