While in absolute terms, the exceptional performance of the wood technology sector in exports is confirmed, in percentage terms, the Italian market continues to grow, after too long a time in which investments in capital goods were sparing to say the least. We’re seeing an unexpected “realignment” in the economic scenario, despite the fact there were positive signs that something was finally changing on the Italian Market.
Furthermore, if the Italian “4.0 Industry” National Plan is confirmed, it will be an added incentive to increase our results on the Italian market, a push in the right direction which, without being overly optimistic, could represent the end of extremely difficult times. So, what is in store for the world of wood by-product and wood working machinery and technology in the near future? Acimall made a forecast study in an attempt to take a look into its crystal ball: 39% of those interviewed are convinced there will be an increase in orders from abroad, 56% feel we are headed for a phase of stability, while just 5% think there will be a reduction. Another 5% think there will also be a drop in Italian orders, offset by 67% who believe in stability and 28% who are convinced the phase of growth will continue.
