Great technical results, imminent economic hazards

The facade construction companies for architecture (the so-called “wrap”) have developed an extraordinary ability to design, manufacture, finishing and assembly, able to solve even the daring projects of the most important architects. The theme of the manufactured item’s quality and lasting warranty is a topic that Focchi is developing, both from careful supplies and processing selection, and in the definition of product liability, concerning, for example, the coating process. In fact, while having an impact on the overall costs of about 2% of the total project, the coating of aluminium profiles can create significant collateral damage, that result from various problems, not only aesthetic. In fact, finding a defect in the facade means an exponential increase of the “guarantee costs”, especially if this requires the dismantling of a façade’s “cell”, resulting in the closure of the road, the opening of a construction site, the property-use restrictions, the mobilization of city’s law enforcement and much more. Martino Amoroso, one of Focchi’s managers, company located in Poggio Torriana, in the province of Rimini, has proposed to build a coating chain, «where all the actors contribute in relation to their value in the process and, together with the end user, build insurance in relation to the individual contribution - considering that the 224/88 law states that everyone has the responsibility for what was personally done - which can cover the replacement of defective products or of the products that have caused a defect».
