The technological evolution of methods to check quality coating

Since 2015 Innovhub laboratory of the Milan Chamber of Commerce, located next to the Politecnico di Milano, performs quality tests on innovative coatings products and process, with a high practical and significant technological value. The introduction of ACET method, which has been internationally standardized ISO 17463, as the main test of coating resistance to corrosion, allowed the highly specialized personnel of the quoted laboratory to optimize this test, in close collaboration with many Italian and European entrepreneurs by meeting the main coating manufacturers’ needs, who wanted to use these innovative and useful, corrosion resistance tests (in just 24 hours, compared to the thousands of hours of the salt spray tests). In corrosion tests with ACET method was introduced the use of computers, with considerable advantages in the context of anti-corrosion tests, availability of results in a very short time, cost effectiveness and objectivity (and not of questionable subjectivity, as in the case of the results of the test in salt spray). The ACET method is the a superaccellerated tool to achieve daily the corrosion resistance of coating products, or coating process, with reduced costs compared to those of the tests in salt spray chamber.

The Innovhub laboratory is available for whole coatings products market (paints, powder coatings, waterborne and solvent ones).
