Companies production and design choices, in the future, will be more and more oriented towards “multi-material products”. The product requires quality, functionality and, why not, an artistic and aesthetic value. Above all, the market requires continuous diversification, reducing the serial numbers and increasing customization, the “unique” piece, the singularity. For this reason VDL, which for over thirty years has been dealing with wood coating process, starting from issue 208 of Vdl, while remaining focused on this material, will also deal with other coating materials, when these “will dialogue” with wood. The skills of those involved in production are no longer confined to a single sector: in the furniture industry especially, but also elsewhere, such as in the window frames industry, use and finish of other materials it is now common.
