We visited
ScaffSystem, a company with its headquarters in Ostuni, in the province of
Brindisi, which has recently presented a new line of metal furniture inspired
by the original manufacturing “Officina Tamborrino”.
The new brand Scaff
System begins in a company highly specialised in the metal sheet processing.
the cooperation with
Axalta was essential: together with Francesco Monno, in synergy with Licio
(CEO of Scaff System and creative director of Officine Tamborrino), we identified
some colours “which would remind” those of the past, but at the same time that
would allow this furniture to be very actual and, above all, to guarantee a
surface pleasant to the touch since they were designed for interior. While
maintaining the sheet metal processing as main activity connected to all new
projects, within Tamborrino Officine new materials and products connected to
the local tradition are tested, such as for example No Smoking seat (designer:
Andrea Epifani) manufactured with a paper mache shell, a unique technique
deeply rooted in the Salento tradition. The brand is then used to carry out
research on different materials and technologies, some of which very connected
to local tradition; but new projects are all about finishes, and the powder
coatings supplier works in synergy with: a very interesting challenge, where
the finish helps to increase the added value of made in Italy.
