When you
have to do an analysis of the current cathodic dip-paint coating’s market you
should resort to industry leaders to avoid any problem of approximation. We made it, by visiting the first
plant of Foresi society of Verdellino, in the province of Bergamo, a good
example of efficiency and production capacity.
The corporate director Giancarlo
Quistini, to ensure quality of pretreatment and cataphoretic primer, provides
the best the Italian market can offer while remaining up to date with the
latest technological innovations. Currently it is using as a conversion
cycle (0.8 μm) the Gardoflex of Chemetall Italy process, for the preparation of
each type of anti-corrosion metal support to be treated in cataphoresis (which
belongs to PPG Industries of Quattordio Italy). The corrosion characteristics
of Gardoflex Cataforesi-cycle are very high, so that the thickness of the
cataphoretic bottom, controlled at all times by factory’s laboratory chemists,
could be reduced to 20 μm, while giving greater protection in-case, on the
edges and corners of the pieces.
