Automation: sustainable quality and productivity in Calligaris

 Automation is the great asset of the industry of those countri­es which, like Italy, have a complex organization of manufac­turing, worsen by bureaucracy and high working costs. Not only that: in the field of industrial coating au­tomation guarantee quality and re­peatability that manual application cannot guarantee. ANVER, the trade association which VDL is spokesper­son in the sector of the wood and its derivatives finishing, supports the evolution of the industry in this direction, because in addition to the benefits mentioned above, definitely has a positive impact on the safety and health - mental and physical - of workers, which also no longer have to carry out repetitive tasks in direct contact with products not always “healthy” during production proces­ses.

The case of Calligaris, international leader company in the production of furniture and furnishings with an established tradition in the sector of seating (chairs and small armchairs) that we had visited several times, is emblematic: for years the produc­tion, led by Marcello Pallavicini one of the greatest experts in this sector, has been automated, espe­cially in the coating area.
